CHONTA CONDOR VIEWPOINT TOUR
Itinerary
Start of the Tour
We begin with pickup from your hotel between 08:00 and 08:30 am. We will depart for the picturesque town of Limatambo, traveling the route that connects Cusco with the Apurímac region, surrounded by imposing snow-capped mountains.
Killarumiyoc
Our first visit will be the Inca temple of Killarumiyoc, a ceremonial center dedicated to the Moon. Here we will observe fine stone carvings that demonstrate the deep spiritual connection of the Incas with the stars.
Tarawasi (Optional)
We will continue to Tarawasi, where we can admire its cellular-style Inca walls, used as a tambo or resting place on the route to the Chinchaysuyo.
Limatambo and Lunch
We will enjoy a traditional lunch in Limatambo, surrounded by a temperate climate and fruit landscapes, before starting the ascent towards the community of Chonta.
Hike to the Chonta Viewpoint
From the town of Chonta, we will start a walk of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes along a path with spectacular views of the Apurímac Canyon. The path is gentle and allows us to connect with Andean nature.
Condor Sighting
We will arrive at the natural viewpoints where, with a bit of luck and patience, we will witness the majestic flight of the Andean Condor. Observing these sacred birds gliding over the deepest canyon in the region is an unforgettable experience.
Return to Cusco
After enjoying the natural spectacle, we will walk back to Chonta and board our transportation to Cusco, arriving in the city by night (approx. 19:30 hrs).
